Meet Dr. Armstrong

It has been an honor to practice dentistry for over 30 years.

I love that no two days of my life are ever the same! I am excited every day to see what lies ahead of me and to know that even though I may perform the same procedures, they are never routine because the people and circumstances are always different.

I value every person I have had the honor to get to know through my career. I enjoy catching up on their latest news, hearing about their families, and sharing in their world and interests.

I grew up in Ecorse, a small city south of Detroit and was drawn to dentistry as a way to help people improve their quality of life.

My Bachelor of Arts was obtained at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) was awarded by the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Dental school was rigorous, challenging, and fascinating. It gave me a solid foundational understanding of the science and artistry of the practice, as well as experience in diagnostics, techniques, and materials.

That said, dentistry, like all areas of healthcare, is a constantly changing field. Ongoing research leads to new technologies, methodologies, and approaches to patient care. Since finishing dental school, I have actively sought-out continuing education (CE) opportunities, staying current with the latest developments and honing my skills and knowledge.

In 2020, I was honored to serve as President of the National Dental Association. In addition to being the Immediate Past-President of the NDA 2021, I am an active member of the:

  • American Dental Association
  • American College of Dentists
  • International College of Dentists
  • Michigan Dental Association
  • Detroit District Dental Society
  • Wolverine Dental Society

These professional organizations offer numerous venues for me to learn from leaders in the dental field. Each month I complete multiple CE courses.

The knowledge I gain from this constant learning is incorporated into my office and shared with my patients. It helps me to excite patients about their oral health and, more importantly, educate them in how to improve and maintain their oral health and overall wellness!

In addition to my private practice, I am Supervising Dentist at Wayne County Community College District in the Dental Hygiene Department. I also dedicate a lot of time and passion advocating for vulnerable communities regarding oral healthcare.

While I tend to be busy, I do have a major passion outside of healthy smiles: golf! I love the game and enjoy being on the golf course, improving my skills!
